Firmoo June New Arrivals

Retro Glasses. These glasses are classic, unique and stylish.

Oversized Glasses. Some people may find it weird but these are actually unique and attractive.

Our skin is our body's first line of defense against external factors. If this barrier is damaged foreign organisms that may cause infection can easily get in.

The pimples on your face is the result of a month long incubation process. Dead skin cells are supposed to slough off but sometimes they block the pores or sebaceous hair follicles. Then this happens, the sebaceous glands oil or sebum builds up. Bacteria that either live on your skin or was transferred through your dirty hands, pillow etc. will then infect it. Once they multiply they will trigger the body's inflammatory cascade. The end product is a shiny red pimple topped with pus.

Aren't you just itching to pop it?

Here are common myths about acne:
1. Tan your skin and your acne will go away. No, it just dries your skin!
2. Was your face more often. No, again it will just dry your skin and irritate it.
3. Pop the pimples and it will go away. No, it will just push the bacteria deeper into your skin and you will have scars.
4. Makeups causes pimples. No, just as long as you use nonacnegenic and noncomedogenic products.
5. Eating chocolate and other greasy food can cause breakouts. No, studies has confirmed this claim yet.
6. Stress causes pimples. No, stress is a regular part of life.
7. Acne is for teenagers only. No, you can get it at any age.

My sound advice to you is:
1. Not to touch your face with your dirty hands.
2. Not to pop your pimples.
3. Use trusted acne solution brands.

Take Proactive Solution for example. It prevents acne from developing by targeting the root cause and by destroying the acne cycle:
1. The Proactiv Renewing Cleanser (Step 1) and the Proactiv Revitalizing Toner (Step 2) works by
removing dead skin cells, ensuring that the pores don’t get clogged.

2. The Proactiv Revitalizing Toner (Step 2) removes excess oils too, eliminating food for bacteria.

3. The Proactiv Renewing Cleanser (Step 1) and the Proactiv Repairing Treatment (Step 3) kills the
bacteria and prevent proliferation

4. The Free Refining Mask helps reduce the inflammation and swelling.

Proactiv is superior than other available treatment methods because most of them only spot-treat the pimples without answering its root cause. That is why the problem will recur. What you get instead are scars and dark marks.

Proactiv Solution Vs. Overnight Spot Treatments. Spot treatment is the most commonly used method
of treating acne because these are cheap, easy to apply, and more often than not promising miracle
cure overnight. These products mostly contain high concentration benzoyl peroxide at 5% or 10% which
kill the acne bacteria, but results to redness or irritation. These products may also cause hyper
pigmentation (dark acne marks). Proactiv Solution contains only 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, a safe and effective concentration which makes it OK for daily use and may be applied to the whole face. With Proactiv’s Advanced Microcrystal technology, eradicating bacteria is faster and gentler than common spot treatments.

Proactiv Solution Vs. Topical Antibiotics. Doctors need to supervise people using antibiotics because
the long term use of antibiotics in general may cause bacterial resistance – making the person “immune”
to the benefits of the active ingredient. Proactiv Solution will never have bacterial resistance because it does not contain an antibiotic, but rather an anti-microbial agent. It is safe for long term use for the treatment and prevention of acne.

Proactiv Solution vs. Oral Drugs. When acne is severe, dermatologists sometimes prescribe oral drugs
like isotretinoin or hormonal pills. There are studies that support that these methods are extremely
effective for severe cases, but because of the nature of these drugs there are side effects that make it
questionable if the benefits truly outweigh the cost. For example, there were reports in 2010 linking
suicidal tendencies and psychotic behaviors among acne patients on isotretinoin. Hormonal pills, which
are mainly indicated as a contraceptive sometimes causes water retention, weight gain, mood swings,
and in the long run, even breast cancer. Proactiv Solution does not have these side effects!

Proactiv Solution Vs. Derm Clinic Injections. The Philippine Dermatological Society is campaigning for
awareness among Filipinos to patronize only the services of highly qualified doctors, and not to be too
trusting of attendants who may not have the proper training and experience to do this. This type of
procedure is extremely painful, and when done by inexperienced hands, may cause scars for life. And
because acne is a cyclical condition, recurring acne imposes recurring painful injections. Proactiv Solution is gentle on you. With advanced micronized benzoyl peroxide and ingredients designed by Doctors Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, your journey to clear skin is one that does not incite pain.

Proactiv Solution Vs. Custom Derm Packs. The promise of acne’s miracle cure comes in different
shapes, sizes, and prices. But do not always think that designer packs that costs Php 10,000 in expensive
clinics are great! Expensive acne systems often do not have the backing of massive consumer trial from
all over the world, and you end up being a guinea pig.

I kept on squeezing my bottle but nothing came out of it. Finally I decided to open it up. Lo and behold a silver foil has kept it well sealed all along. Remember to take this off or else you will suffer the same fate as I did.

I only used a coin-sized amount. The color of the solution is kindda like blue or mint green. I think I am poor with color identification. Anyways, there are also speckles of darker color.

Salicylic acid is one of its major component. Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. If you have Aspirin try dissolving it in a small amount of water. You will see that it will turn into granules similar to the ones found in Proactiv.

So here I am rubbing Proactiv on my face. Notice that it doesn't produce much lather.

I let it sit on my face for a few minutes to make the solution do its wonders.

Once you wash out the solution you will feel that it is a bit dry. I just used moisturizer to bring the moisture back to my skin.

I do not have much pimples right now but I use this as a prophylaxis when I've been exposed to dirt and grime or when it is near my period.

Remember the Proactiv deep cleansing wash I got the other day?

What is Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash?

Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash is the perfect medicated body wash for your back-ne and pimples found on your chest and shoulders. You can even use it on your face!

Why it works?

This product contains salicylic acid  in 2% concentration. This is excellent in healing and helping prevent acne break outs. It also has Camelia Oleifera Seed Extract and Aloe Barbadensis Gel. Both of these are gentle botanicals that soothe and heal acne prone skin.

The microbeads incorporated into the product carefully helps slough off or exfoliate dead skin cells that causes acne. It also reduces the pore clogging oils that causes inflammation on your skin.

Application

|It is easy to use this product. Just squeeze out a small amount of the wash on the palm of your hands and apply it to your dampened skin. It doesn't really lather like ordinary facial wash. Once you are done applying it to your skin you will then need to rinse everything off with water. Pat your face dry afterwards.

Just in time because I can feel zits sprouting on my face! This is the perfect time to try this product.

Ideally, one should wash, tone and moisturize their face. I just wash and moisturizer. When I hear the word toner, I would immediately imagine Eskinol or astringents. I'm not a big fan of these products because the former with its high alcohol content can be drying and the latter can cause redness and often leaves your face white while your neck is several shades darker. Awful! Hence, I always steered away from toners.

Coming from the province which only has one small mall to boast, finding a genuine luxury perfume has always been a challenge. There are times that I do manage to find the brands I like but it is either overpriced because a friend from abroad has brought it in( sorry, I am not your typical Filipino. I have no relatives from abroad), a made in China knock off at 250Php at a local Taiwanese store or else I have to go to the big cities like Manila or Cebu and ask around where to find one.

Since I easily get bored with a certain scent and I always want to match my scent with the occasion, I am always at the prowl for new scents. I am glad there is FReSH Fragrance Bar because shopping for perfumes has now become easier. When I need a new scent, I know where to point my nose at:  Eastwood Mall or Alabang Town Center when I'm in Manila.

I am happy to know that they only sell perfumes that are genuine and authentic. The icing on the cake is that they are sold at reasonable prices. They also offer a flexible payment scheme, promos and loyalty programs that will definitely lure me time and time again. Not heavy on the pocket is totally me.

Indeed it is the “Perfume Store for Perfume Addicts” like me! Now, I can now start my own dream fragrance bar at home without worrying about its quality.

 It is just 15ml.
All you have to do is to place small dots around your orbital area using your beauty or ring finger sinc ethis one has the least pressure. The undereye area has thin skin with no sweat and oil glands so you have to be extra gentle when applying cream in this area.
This formula promises to fight the 7 signs of aging:

1. Fine lines and wrinkles: reduces the appearance of fine line and wrinkles.
2. Dark circles: reduces the appearance of dark circles.
3. Crow's feet: reduces appearance of crow's feet.
4. Puffiness: reduces under-eye puffiness.
5. Uneven tone: balances and evens out skin tone.
6. Uneven teture: smoothens and evens out skin texture.
7. Dryness: provides nourishing moisturizer.

Look at this deceiving box. You thought the bottle was big right? It just occupies half of the box.

So this is how it looks in the inside but so far I have only used the cream stuck on the cover.
You only need a thin layer for your eyes. I think this bottle is gonna last me long.
Don't forget! Use your ring finger!
Pat it gently or in a circle motion under your eye and on the crevices of your crow's feet. Apply cream also below your brows and on the creases of your eyelid.

I don't have any experience iwth eye creams before so let me just tell you why I love this cream. It is not heavy and is easily absorbed by my skin. I think it lightened my discoloration.

I will buy this again because it is rich and creamy and doesn't leave my periorbital area grayish.

I am not paid for this review. I bought this with my own money. Although I have emailed their FB page for samples because I am a great fan of their product. Oh well...

Tip: If you want your pot to last long, keep it refrigerated.

Vamoose!
